My mother with her baby boy in 1952. My mother, Fylgia Zadig, was an actress; in the 50s she worked at Uppsala Stadsteater and after that mostly at Riksteatern. She passed away in 1994.

My father, the actor Bengt Eklund, dressed up for his part as "The Old Man" (Den Gamle) - the head of Swedish military intelligence - in the thriller "Coq Rouge". He was an actor at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm in the 50s and 60s, before a heated argument with director Ingmar Bergman caused him to leave the stage. After that he spent most of his time in the movies and the radio. To most Swedes he is probably best known as Tjorven's father in Astrid Lindgren's "Saltkråkan". He died in 1998.

My family in 1957. In the picture is also my sister Lena, who now lives with her husband and children in Västerås.

My wife, Pernilla Ström, member of the board of a number of Swedish companies such as Bonnier AB, Kapp-Ahl, Salus Ansvar and HQ. Previously CEO of Blockbid, editor at Dagens Nyheter, Veckans Affärer and Expressen, as well as Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Committee on the consequences of EU. We've been married since 1992. Since then, she's been in firm control...

Celebrating my 50th birthday with my sons Sigge (author and web designer www.siggeeklund.se) and Fredrik (entrepreneur in numerous businesses, at present real estate developer in NY City at www.coregroupmarketing.com). Sigge designed this website and has also a written a novel about his childhood and our sometimes wonderful, sometimes frustrating father-son relationship.

I've become a grandfather! Here is Sigge with his two boys, Viggo (born March 2003) and Truls (December 2004).

Old friends from my teenage days - Olle Zetterberg, Nils Kärrlander and Henrik Axiö. Once a year we go on a trip to consume culture and beer.

This picture is taken in the spring of 1990, in Berlin, where we helped demolish the wall...

Our home: Tygelsjogarden, an old farm in Southern Sweden which we have rebuilt and modernised. Here Pernilla breeds and trains elite dressage horses.

Pernilla's darling: Her foal Andromeda. Here she is, just a few weeks old.

And this stallion boy is actually called Klas Junior...

Our little puppy Margot. One day she might be a ferocious watchdog...

A hobby: Motoring. For some years I drove a Honda VFR - a great all-rounder. But after fierce negotiations with Pernilla, who found the the bike (and my driving) too dangerous, it was sold. Now, on the farm, I drive a tractor...
